1. Frank Lucas
Frank Lucas was an American drug trafficker, he was born on September 9, 1930, in North Carolina, during the late 1960s and early 1970s he used to operate from Harlem, New York City. To do direct drug trade from the source in the Golden Triangle in Southeast Asia, Lucas cut off the middlemen.
In 1976, Frank was found guilty of drug trafficking and was given 70 years in prison, later he became an agency informer and was placed in the Witness Protection Program. In 1991, Lucas was released from prison. He used to sell around one million dollars worth of heroin a day, it is claimed that Lucas has a net worth of over $52 million and also many properties all over the country like Los Angeles, Miami, and Detroit, in his last years, Frank was in a wheelchair due to a car accident that broke his leg. Lucas died on May 30, 2019, in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.
2. Amado Carrillo Fuentes
Amado Carrillo Fuentes was a Mexican drug lord, he was born on December 17, 1956. After killing his boss Rafael Aguilar Guajardo Fuentes became the head of the Mexican Juarez Cartel and was known as The Lord of the Skies due to the huge large fleet of jets he used to transport drugs from Colombia to Mexico.
Amado also used to do money laundering from Colombia to many finance groups, with a net value of $25 billion Fuentes was the most powerful drug trafficker of his era. To change his appearance Amado went through extensive plastic surgery, and because of some problems, in July 1997 he was declared dead.
3. Dawood Ibrahim
Dawood Ibrahim is a drug kingpin, a wanted terrorist, and an Indian mafia gangster, he was born on 26 December 1955 in Dongri, Mumbai. In the 1970s Dawood founded and was head of the Indian organized crime syndicate D-Company.
He was suspected by the United States and India in the 1993 Bombay bombings and was announced as a global terrorist. Dawood was wanted on charges including extortion, terrorism, murder, drug trafficking, and targeted killing, by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation Ibrahim was named number three on The World’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives in 2011, and the government auctioned his three properties in November 2017.
4. Joseph Kennedy
Joseph Patrick Kennedy was born into a political family on September 6, 1888, in East Boston, Massachusetts. He was an investor, politician, and American businessman. Joseph is known for his own political status as well as for his children as one of his sons became President, Joseph made a large wealth as a stock market and investor, later invested in business industries and real estate across the United States, he also has a largest private building in the Chicago’s Merchandise Mart.
From 1938 to late 1940, Joseph served as the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Kennedy’s father was in a liquor business. By reorganizing and refinancing several Hollywood studios he made huge profits. He used gangster Sam Giancana to help his son John get elected through his ties to Chicago and the unions. During Prohibition, many have accused him of having also traded in bootleg liquor. Joseph Kennedy died on November 18, 1969.
5. Whitey Bulger
Whitey Bulger was an American organized crime boss. He led the Winter Hill Gang in the Winter Hill neighborhood of Somerville, Massachusetts. After his 2011 arrest, federal prosecutors tried Bulger for nineteen murders based on grand jury testimony from Kevin Weeks and other former criminal associates. He was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.
He was considered the most wanted person behind ‘Osama bin Laden’. In June 2013, his trial began. He was tried on 32 counts of racketeering, money laundering, extortion, and weapons charges, including complicity in nineteen murders. Bulger has set up safe deposit boxes containing cash, jewelry, and passports in locations across North America and Europe. The 2013 television drama The Blacklist starring James Spader about a career criminal who turns himself in to work with the FBI on his own terms was initially inspired by Bulger’s arrest and trial. Bulger was incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary Coleman II in Sumterville, Florida. In October 2018, he was transferred to several facilities first to the Federal Transfer Center and then to the Penitentiary, Hazelton, West Virginia.
